Thousands of Dutch people dupe oplichtingsapps

Several thousand Dutch have infected Google apps downloaded from the Play Store.

They thought they had downloaded a nieuwsapp, or an app to their device to clean up, but in reality tried the app user names and passwords for Internet banking to intercept.

Security guard ESET has discovered the eight apps. Google has now been removed. It is not known who the creators are. It is also not clear how many passwords they compromised and whether they have funneled Money from bank accounts.

ESET advises people who believe they are affected to change their passwords and strange to watch activities, such as depreciation, emails and login attempts.
