Marrakech: 18% increase in overnight stays during the first 9 months of 2017

Marrakech remains a popular holiday town, according to figures from the Regional Council of tourism

Overnight stays in hotels in Marrakech in the first 9 months of 2017 with 18% compared with the same period of 2016.

According to the data of the Regional Council of tourism (CRT) of the city amounts to the number of nights spent in this period 5,777,745 against 4,904,616 in the same period by 2016. In the month of september increased the overnight stays in Marrakech with 16%, these are 678,813, compared to 587,084 tourists in september 2016.

The occupancy rate in hotels during the first 9 months of 2017 reached 52%, compared to 47% in the same period by 2016, while alone in the month of september the occupancy rate amounted to 58%, compared to 53% in september 2016.

The average length of stay in the period January-september 2017 was 3.4 nights, the same length as in 2016, the Moroccan news agency MAP.
