Abe asks urgent UN discussion on North Korea

The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has an emergency meetings of the UN Security Council asked about North Korea.

The occasion was the launch of a presumably intercontinental ballistic missile by Pyongyang. The projectile came in the Japanese sea, a few hundred kilometers from the coast. Abe promised to protect the Japanese population.

The new missile test, after a breathing space of more than two months, was not confined to Tokyo strictly frowned upon. The American Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who supports the request by Abe, condemned the provocation too right away and called on all countries on a United Front to press ahead with the economic sanctions against the regime of Kim Jong-un.
