Palestinians call for protest and strike

Palestinian religious and secular groups have called on residents to lay down and go to work Thursday to protest.

The call is a response to the decision by the US president Donald Trump to Al Quds as the capital of Israel.

The Palestinian Ministry for education has Thursday to free day. Teachers and students are instructed to take part in the protests in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and parts of Al Quds.

The Palestinian Hamas leader Ismail Haniyah has Thursday in Gaza called for a new uprising or intifada against Israel.

"We must call and work for the start of a new intifada against the Zionist enemy," said Haniyah.
