Documentary: a quest for water in the Atlas mountains (video)
Water is precious and rare in the remote valleys of the High Atlas mountains in Morocco. Berbers, the only residents of mountains, use old irrigation methods to dry valleys in lush gardens. But climate change threatens their existence.
In the small village of Tizi Anoucheg try R the serious water problem. He found enough financing to tap water from a source and even a fountain. Rachid is now planning to other villages around the Valley to help.
A group of French engineers will help him to test him by soil conditions and water purification techniques. Together they pull the Atlas mountains in to the water cycle of the region to investigate and local sources of pollution.
This beautiful English-language documentary by DW Documentary is definitely worth watching.
