Prisons in Morocco launch awareness and screening campaign for AIDS

The campaign has aimed to the stigma of people living with the virus to combat life.

The General delegation for prison administration and rehabilitation (DGAPR), in cooperation with the Ministry of health set up an awareness and screening campaign for AIDS. The campaign will be carried out in 62 correctional facilities, this includes 80% of the prison population.

The awareness and screening campaign for the 62 detainees in prisons, with the theme "zero stigma, 100% human dignity", will continue until december 27, according to a statement from the DGAPR.  To kick off this campaign will take place in the local prison of Tetouan, after that it will extend to different prisons in the Kingdom.

The launch of this campaign, on the occasion of World Aids Day 2017, aims to raise awareness about AIDS, the stigma of people living with the virus to combat life and access to care and prevention services.
