Hand grenade Amsterdam-West cleaned up

At a water shop at the Jan Evertsenstraat in Amsterdam is a hand grenade found at the door of the property.

Specialists of the explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) have the explosive defused and taken. After investigation is the area around the store again released.

It was the second time in a month time in Amsterdam a hand grenade at a commercial building was left. Previously there was a found in the village, for a café in the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat. Acting Mayor Jozias van Aartsen closed thereupon the cocktail bar for an indefinite period of time because of serious threat to public order. For the same reason, the then Mayor Eberhard van der Laan in August had a club on the Amstel Street closed.

According to the police, it is too early to to establish a link between those incidents and the grenade that Thursday is harmless.
