Flu epidemic continues

The flu wave, which has gripped all of two months in the Netherlands, is not over.

According to Research Institute last week on the 100,000 people 160 Nivel went to the family doctor with flu-like symptoms. A week earlier, it was 166 sick at 100,000 people. The week before there were 110.

That are particularly high numbers. If two weeks more than 100,000 people 51 on the flu, there is official talk of an epidemic. Netherlands is now for the eighth week in a row exceeded this limit. On average it takes such an epidemic about nine weeks, but last year kept the flu wave fifteen weeks.

House doctors see this round especially very young children, students and those over sixty-five with flu-like symptoms.

Nivel relies on figures of 42 GP practices throughout the country.
