Senate approves new donorwet
The first room has Tuesday agreed to a new system for active donor registration. After weeks of debate 38 senators voted for and 36 against. The vote is a victory for Member of Parliament Pia Dijkstra (D66), which developed strongly in recent years made for a new donor system.
The donorwet of D66 means that all organ donor unless he or she objects. The relatives, however, an important say in the matter.
The vote followed a lengthy third term, in which the Labour Party submitted a motion to the position of next-of-kin to arrange more clearly. That motion was adopted.
The donorwet was in the House but with tight majority and was also in the Senate very sensitive. Many groups voted in was divided, as in the VVD, CDA and the PvdA. At the SP was senator Ada Gerkens Tuesday absent. According to group leader Hans-Martin Don has they opposed the law, but she wanted ' for political reasons ' not vote against.
