Mobile caravan for blood donations start today in Morocco

The Ministry of health today launched a mobile caravan for blood donations in different regions of the Kingdom.

The mobile caravan is launched under the theme "blood donation, a responsibility of all" to ensure the supply of sufficient blood. For quite some time by various hospital and authorities sounded the alarm pulled on a lack of blood.

The launch of this mobile caravan, which until March 25 in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Safi, Settat, Marrakech-Casablanca-Fez-Meknes and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima will continue, will be given by the Minister of health, Anas Doukkali.  A statement from the Department of health pointed out that this initiative is aimed at all citizens.

This Caravan is striving to create a blood supply of not less than 7 days, or 4500 blood bags, and wants to increase awareness of the importance of blood donation in society. It also seeks the stock blood products in the blood transfusion centers in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Fez and Tangier.

This Caravan is organized in collaboration with the ministries of the Interior and Islamic Affairs, Mohammed VI Foundation and the National Committee for the prevention of accidents on the road.

To ensure the success of this initiative, the Ministry of health mobilized medical and nursing staff and a mobile medical unit where blood donations can be given.
