Russian device crashes into Syria

A Russian military transport aircraft crashed on the landing at an air base southeast of the Syrian port city of Latakia.

As a result, all 39 occupants lost their lives, reports the Russian Ministry of Defense.

When landing at Hmeymin airbase, not far from the Mediterranean, there is no need to fly over areas that are in the hands of rebels. The Russian authorities conclude that the aircraft of the type Antonov An-26 has been knocked down by enemy fire. They think of a technical defect but also allow other causes.

The National Committee of Investigation therefore opened a criminal case. The employees will consider the possibility that the crash was caused by the crew not following the safety rules during the flight.
