Bank robbery in Fez

A man tried to rob a bank with a knife in the Bensouda district in Fez.

The police in Fez arrested a man yesterday because of his alleged involvement in an armed robbery in a banking institution, located in the district of Bensouda in the same city.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the man who concealed his face with a cotton scarf entered the agency with a knife in his hand, the Directorate-General for National Security (DGSN) stated in a statement.

The man failed to carry out his crime through a security guard who closed the door, reported the same source, adding that the man then broke the glass in front of the building and fled. He left his knife, cotton scarf and traces of blood (of wounds caused by breaking the glass) behind.

The rapid intervention of the police resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect near the crime scene, according to DGSN.
