Rabat: Royal Gendarmerie holds great cleaning action at bus stops

The operation resulted in the arrest of 526 people.

The Royal Gendarmerie in Rabat between 23 February and 9 March 2018 conducted a large-scale campaign at bus stops on the routes that are used by the buses that Salé, Ain Aouda, Témara and Skhirate operate.

This campaign was designed to reassure users of public transport, the local authorities of the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra in a statement.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 526 people, involved in different crimes and offences such as drug trafficking, theft of mobile phones, throwing stones on buses and public drunkenness.

It also led to the seizure of various amounts of narcotic drugs, psychotropic tablets, various types of knives and a taser.

On indication of 43 detainees were brought before the Prosecutor in court, the Moroccan news agency reports folder.
